Short-term & Long-term volunteering at our McLeod Ganj school
Most of our volunteers give English
language conversation sessions with our students (or another language
if your student is interested!) during late afternoon to early evening,
you can arrange the time with your student; it's a great opportunity to
share experiences and students are always interested to hear where you
come from. Even if you're passing through McLeod Ganj for just a day,
we can arrange an hour or two for you so long as you Contact Us in advance. It's a great way you can help ex political prisoners and to learn a bit about Tibetan culture.
If
you have a little longer to stay then teaching English classes can be a
possibility, especially if you have a TEFL or CELTA teaching
qualification and depending on your experience and/or enthusiasm! It
could be a great gap year teaching opportunity or if you're looking to
teach abroad during the summer.
If you think you have other skills you would like to share with GuChuSum then we would also like to hear.
For all queries about potential volunteering, please Contact Us
here. If you are interested in speaking with students about their
experiences as political prisoners we ask that you ask us to arrange an
interview with a willing student, rather than use the conversation
classes as a means, since not all students want to be open about their
terrible experiences.
Prospective Volunteers
We would love you to
help at GuChuSum for any period of time you have. There are both
short-term and long-term volunteering opportunities available.
Current or Past Volunteers
We are always interested to hear how volunteering at GuChuSum can be improved, or to have you back again.
